You know those stick-thin models, or the stick-thin celebrities like Mischa Barton and Paris Hilton, or those formally-fuller-but-now-stick-thin people, like Jessica Simpson, Nicole Richie, and Lindsay Lohan?
Well, everyone thinks that they're beautiful and they have the life. Everything is great for them because they're thin and beautiful. They have everything they'd ever want. They define beauty, do they not?
Well, I don't think they do.
Some girls look at Paris Hilton's body as inspiration on how they want to look. They see Mary-Kate Olsen and think, "That's what I want to look like. She's beautiful." But, I don't want to be a stick-figure. Ever.
I think they all look unhealthy. It's not beautiful to me, to look like all you have is bones. Bones that pop out over your skin. It makes your arms look incredibly long and stringy, and any muscle on your legs seem to flap around and look like fat.
If skin and bones is beauty, I'd rather be full and ugly. If I can't ever get a guy because Paris Hilton is the definition of beauty, so be it.
The world is shallow, but I'm sick of it. Those people aren't what beauty is. Beauty starts in the soul.
I think Queen Latifa is extremely beautiful. I love the fact that she's not stick thin, and I love her soul beauty. She was on Oprah, and Oprah brought up the fact that she was named one of People magazine's "50 Most Beautiful People," and the Queen said that beauty isn't just about what's out there, it's what's inside. Beauty is only skin deep.
In short, I don't think thin is beautiful.
Beautiful is what you make it.
